What the allowance actually buys
One allowance here buys 2,220 gil, the best of the 3 Lv 88 Botanist fieldcraft leves that record gil: the runner-up manages 2,024 gil, 9% less.
Across that rung the return runs from 1,828 gil to 2,220 gil per allowance — 3 distinct figures spanning 21%, so the wrong pick leaves 392 gil of the allowance unspent.
On whether to wait: the best Lv 90 Botanist fieldcraft leve returns 2,264 gil per allowance, 2% more than the best on this rung, while the Lv 86 rung behind tops out at 2,176 gil.
At Lv 88 this data holds 24 leves paying gil across 2 categories: the 8 Fieldcraft ones average 2,121 gil per allowance, the 16 Tradecraft ones 5,030 gil, which puts this leve 5% above its own category's average.
