What the allowance actually buys
One allowance here buys 1,794 gil, which places it 3rd of the 3 Lv 84 Botanist fieldcraft leves that record gil. The best of them, Into the Pines, returns 2,132 gil for the same allowance, 19% more.
Across that rung the return runs from 1,794 gil to 2,132 gil per allowance — 3 distinct figures spanning 19%, so the wrong pick leaves 338 gil of the allowance unspent.
On whether to wait: the best Lv 86 Botanist fieldcraft leve returns 2,176 gil per allowance, 2% more than the best on this rung, while the Lv 82 rung behind tops out at 2,088 gil.
At Lv 84 this data holds 24 leves paying gil across 2 categories: the 8 Fieldcraft ones average 2,045 gil per allowance, the 16 Tradecraft ones 4,178 gil, which puts this leve 12% below its own category's average.
Old Sharlayan issues 120 leves in this dataset, Lv 80 through Lv 88, across 11 disciplines.
