What the allowance actually buys
One allowance here buys 1,267 gil, which places it 2nd of the 3 Lv 66 Botanist fieldcraft leves that record gil. The best of them, Craic of Dawn, returns 1,387 gil for the same allowance, 9% more.
Across that rung the return runs from 787 gil to 1,387 gil per allowance — 3 distinct figures spanning 76%, so the wrong pick leaves 600 gil of the allowance unspent.
On whether to wait: the best Lv 68 Botanist fieldcraft leve returns 1,397 gil per allowance, 1% more than the best on this rung, while the Lv 64 rung behind tops out at 1,597 gil.
At Lv 66 this data holds 33 leves paying gil across 2 categories: the 9 Fieldcraft ones average 1,136 gil per allowance, the 24 Tradecraft ones 2,213 gil, which puts this leve 12% above its own category's average.
Kugane issues 165 leves in this dataset, Lv 60 through Lv 68, across 11 disciplines.
