What the allowance actually buys
One allowance here buys 1,597 gil, the best of the 3 Lv 64 Botanist fieldcraft leves that record gil: the runner-up manages 1,144 gil, 28% less.
Across that rung the return runs from 1,087 gil to 1,597 gil per allowance — 3 distinct figures spanning 47%, so the wrong pick leaves 510 gil of the allowance unspent.
On whether to wait: the best Lv 66 Botanist fieldcraft leve returns 1,387 gil per allowance, 13% less than the best on this rung, while the Lv 62 rung behind tops out at 1,507 gil.
At Lv 64 this data holds 33 leves paying gil across 2 categories: the 9 Fieldcraft ones average 1,164 gil per allowance, the 24 Tradecraft ones 1,873 gil, which puts this leve 37% above its own category's average.
