What the allowance actually buys
One allowance here buys 1,023 gil, which places it 3rd of the 6 Lv 56 Botanist fieldcraft leves that record gil. The best of them, Heart to Heart, returns 1,608 gil for the same allowance, 57% more.
Across that rung the return runs from 505 gil to 1,608 gil per allowance — 6 distinct figures spanning 218%, so the wrong pick leaves 1,103 gil of the allowance unspent.
On whether to wait: the best Lv 58 Botanist fieldcraft leve returns 1,306 gil per allowance, 19% less than the best on this rung, while the Lv 54 rung behind tops out at 1,097 gil.
At Lv 56 this data holds 72 leves paying gil across 3 categories: the 18 Fieldcraft ones average 765 gil per allowance, the 6 Battlecraft ones 1,047 gil and the 48 Tradecraft ones 598 gil, which puts this leve 34% above its own category's average.
Foundation issues 360 leves in this dataset, Lv 50 through Lv 58, across 12 disciplines.
