Sweetnewt ★★★
Location
The Lavender Beds holds 9 fisher nodes, 1 of them time-restricted and the other 8 available at any hour. At level 50 this is the highest-level gather in the zone, which span levels 7 to 50. This one is not among the 1 that are, so it needs no timing — the 8 untimed nodes here can be worked in any order.
Weather Forecast
Replaying the weather rotation for 365 real days from 1 January 2020 — 7,509 Eorzean days across 22,526 eight-bell weather periods — Sweetnewt opens 2,127 times, about 5.8 windows per real day. Those windows average 25 minutes 9 seconds, which leaves it catchable 10.2% of the time.
The median wait from one window closing to the next opening is 2 hours 43 minutes, and the mean 3 hours 42 minutes. The shortest gap in that simulation was 23 minutes 20 seconds; the worst drought ran 1 day 2 hours.
Ranked against every other fish in this dataset that carries a time or weather requirement, that is the 117th tightest of 348: 231 are catchable for more of the clock than Sweetnewt.
